I Am Amanda

Which Chick Are You?

You are AMANDA. On the surface, you've got the bright and shiny life we all want. You're rich, gorgeous and your Am Ex will buy you the designer clothes of your dreams. Being the popular party girl comes easily to you. It's getting close to friends (or boyfriends) that's a challenge. Maybe if you unloaded that big secret of yours, you'd feel less need to keep folks at arms length. In your Kate Spade knitting tote is all the fuzzy, novelty yarn you can carry.

Normally, I would be upstairs, enjoying the party but I got exiled downstairs to be on kid duty. So, I took the Chicks With Sticks quiz. I found it on Elizabeth Lenhard's website. I am sooooooooo very bored. I am knitting up a really really fast hat using two strands of Caron Simply Soft. The colors are turquoise and purple. It is turning out very fast. I like it. I have also started a scribble lace scarf for my grandmother using Incredible and crochet cotton. It is very pretty but knitting with crochet cotton is not that fun. I shoudl probably go for now. Happy New Year!

Hey Everybody!

My parents and my sister and I are having a little New Years Party! Nicole and Earl and Mrs.Ann and Mr.Ken and Catherine, Michael, and Bryce are coming! I will be able to give the kids their hats and mangae to get pictures taken. Yesterday on my birthday, I bought the second Chicks WIth Sticks Book, Chicks With Sticks (Knit Two Together). I stayed up until 11 to finish it. Oh my gosh it was wonderful! Today I got 9 skeins of yarn from Mrs.DIxie and Mr.Bud for my birthday! NINE! It was all really good quality too. I was impressed. My grandfather wanted me to make him a bright orange scarf that he can wear hunting. He wants it really wide so I cast on 37 stitches on size 8 needles. I am using seed stich. Of course, it has to be bright orange so people can see him so I am using Caron Perfect Match in Orange. Sigh. This color is hurting my eyes but he has never requested anything from me to knit for him, so I really want to make this look nice. Happy New Year! I will have pictures tomorrow!

3 Finished Hats and No Mittens

I have given up on the mittens. Sigh. Oh well! I bought the SImply Creative Crochet magazine today at Bookland and found the cutest stuffed animal patterns. There is one for a lion, a hippo, and an elephant. I have started the lion and I think that it looks pretty cute! Of course I only have half of the head done! I have been knitting and crocheting in the car on the way to shop for different things this week. Today, Mrs.Dixie took my sister and me out to buy us each an outfit for Christmas. I, of course, have already gotten ENOUGH clothes for this Christmas, so I got a really cute sweater and two magazines! How good can it get!

Aren't the pictures cute! The first picture is of Audrey and me at a wedding last fall, I don't know who took the picture, but I have decided that I love it! The one of all the kids is me with my cousins and sister. The older blond is my sister, Catherine. The youngest, sitting beside Catherine, is my all time favorite cousin, Mary Margaret a.k.a. May. The boy is Phillip. Phillip is pretty cool. As much as he hates it he knows that he is pretty cool in my book, and I tend to pull the favorite, oldest cousin bit on him. I love that kid! The three little kids are the kiddos I made the hats for. I need to take a picture of those tomorrow. Oh sorry! The boy with brown hair is Michael! Isn't he prescious! He just had to get a stitch in his head when he fell and hit a rocking chair! Catherine is the girl. She is so sweet! She can act just like a monkey! Bryce is the biggest! He loves Superman, and Spiderman, and all those people. He was so surprised to find that at Sarah's house, she doesn't have the Bat Man movie! It was so funny!
I am actually making myself a birthday present. Weird don't you think. Of course, I started on it right before I went to "bed" so it isn't done yet. Oh well. I will finish it soon. I am making bath scrubbies and fash cloths, all in the same colors. A goldish colors, and rainbow! Very cute! I know that my sister got me Fresh Vanilla bath stuff, because I bribed her, but she won't tell me what my parents got me! I was irritated at her earlier, surprise, surprise.
Wow! I am actually getting tired! Happy Birthday to me and a Happy Happy New Year to You!

Two Hats Done!

I finished two hats and one poncho in two days. I am pretty impressed with myself. Of course, the poncho was made on size 19 needles and one of the hats was on size 10.5 double pointed needles because I detest seaming, but still! I have pictures uploaded upstairs, but I haven't e-mailed them to my laptop yet, so no pictures until tomorrow. The hats are using the self striping yarn Red Heart Strata, and they turned out very cute. I am making three hat and mitten sets to give to the triplets on Sunday. I have the cutest picture of them upstairs. I need to e-mail that to myself to. I am doing something different for 2007. I have a couple of pages in a little note book, that I got at Michaels for a dollar last year, marked for different things. Ponchos, baby booties, hat, etc. During the year of 2007 I am going to mark down whenever I finish something, and at the end of the year next year, I am going to put the grand total up here. By the way, Eric, my wonderful friend from church is going to be joining me in posting this year! Yea!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Boy, oh boy, did I have a great Christmas! I became the owner of.......

a knitting bag, 18 brand new skeins of great yarn! Yes! AND........ EEYORE SLIPPERS!!!! Aren't they cute! I got 14 skeins of cotton yarn, which I will probably use for Christmas presents, 2 skeins of Red Heart Strata, and two skeins of Lion Boucle. I really didn't like the colors of the Red Heart Strata for me, so I am making the skeins into a scarf and mitten set for Catherine Storie. The yarns stripes by itself which means that Catherine will love the stripes, and I won't have to change color yarn! Yea! We both win!
This is what I had of the hat about twenty minutes ago. It doesn't look all that good in the picture but it looks good when you see it. I also got two knitting books, Knitting For Peace, and Knit Two Together. I am actually getting the hat pattern from Knitting For Peace. I am sure that I have taken up enough time, so Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and Happy Kwanza!

I Made Stuff Today!

Wow! BEtween the cleaning and the folding clothes and wrapping presents I maganed to make a scarf. I found 5 skeins of Bold Black Fancy Fur at the Dollar Tree. I couldn't not get them, since they were only a dollar each. I took pictures of the scarf and the other 4 balls I have left. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I am so excited! I am hapong for an iPod Nano so I can listen to my music and my podcasts while I knit. I am not going back to school until January the 8th, so I will have plenty of time to knit. On my calander I have marked the day after Christmas the official knit all day day. I plan on making mittens and hat sets with a really ugly skein of yarn someone gave me. I can't think of anything else to make with it, but hat and mitten sets. I want to use up some of my stash before I buy more yarn during the after-Christmas sale Michaels always has! lol. I probably need to go to sleep now since it is 12:35. Then again, I may turn on my light and knit some. I don't know. lol.
Good-night!

I Finished Dishcloths!

Today at school, I finished the last of Mrs.Ann's dishcloths! YES!! Now, I do not have to look at another dishcloth until the new year!!! I am so excited! For one of my very good friends Karlee, I am crocheting her two bath sponge things and putting them with soap my elf brought me. Today, she gave me a Christmas present. I always feel bad when people get me Christmas presents and I don't have them anything sooooooo, I went to Crochet Pattern Central and looked in the bath crochet section. I found a quick pattern that I liked. I am spending the night at her house tomorrow night, so I quickly worked these up and I am going to put them in a bag tomorrow after I take a picture of them. My friend Shelby, the girl who looks really weird in the picture below, brought me a bag of candy today. After she walked out of ear shot I was like, Crap. Another gift I have to work up. So, I told her that I was going to have her present after we got back from Christmas break. We technically get out tomorrow, but no one is going to go, because exams are over. Lindsey and I are going for first and second period, then her mom is going to check us out and take us out to eat with Lindsey's baby sister Lexie. She is three. Lexie goes to the preschool my mom is director of. Lindsey and I made the connection in the middle of the year last year that our parents knew each other and could very well be talking about us behind our backs. Come to find out, they were, but oh well. Lexie is in the Christmas program at the church tomorrow, so Lindsey and I will go to see it. Audrey will be in it! I have the most adorable picture of her wearing a hot pink fun fur scarf that Lindsey made me on. She told me when she was bug, Mommy was going to buy her a green one. Green is her favorite color. She calls my knitting needles sticks, so I told her that Sarah would make her one with her sticks. Audrey just kind of stared at me.
This is Patrick. I told him to smile, and he told me he didn't feel like smiling, so I took the picture anyway.
Next, we have Shelby, She doesn't normally look this weird. She just didn't know I was taking the picture! lol.
Last, is a picture I took of Mrs.Ann's second set of dishcloths yesterday. I have finished them now.
Merry Christmas to all!

I've Got Pictures!

Last ngiht, I had a Christmas party with Zach, Patrick, and Lindsey. It was very fun! We played Dirty Santa. Kind of. More like an ornament swap. Here is a picture of all of us! Don't we look nice. Except for Zach.

Take a look at these pictures. I knit the pink baby hat and booties a couple of months ago, and just recently gave them to a NICU nurse who goes to my church. She told me that she would check with the parents, and if it was okay, she would take a picture and e-mail them to me. Today, I looked in my Inbox and found these pictures waiting for me. The one in the pink is Joslyn. Isn't she prescious! The one in the Santa hat is Sarah. Aren't they adorable!

I'm Done, I'm Done, I'm Done

Oh yeah! That's right! I am done knitting my Christmas presents. I have decided that for Erin's gift, I am going to buy her an ornament. I have finished Lindsey's basket. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never finished anytime before Christmas. Now I get to wrap them. Blah. I hate wrapping things. Tomorrow, my language class is going to see Scrooge: The Musical. I am very excited. Next week, I have to take my exams. Doesn't that sound like fun. On Saturday, my friends and I are having a Christmas party!!!! I will take a group picture of all of us to post. I still have not done my math homework. Oh well. It is like 14 problems. I will do it tomorrow morning. Sigh. I don't feel well. I can't breathe through my nose. I am going to bed. Good night to all!

Chuckles, Fuggles, Bruce, and Cotton

All my favorite stuffed animals. One is completely knitted. That would be Fuggles. Then we have Bruce and Cotton. Cotton has on the white hand-knitted sweater with the C on it. Bet you could never have figured that out! lol. Bruce is the penguin with the camo sweater on. Then you have Chuckles the Funny Bunny. Chuckles has yet to recieve anything knitted. I know. How dare I. I will have to knit something up after Christmas. That's what I have been telling people. Take the sample conversation that I had with Dylan.
"Lindsey, will you knit me a scarf?"
"After Christmas."
"What?? Sarah, will you knit me a scarf?"
"After Christmas."
"What! You selfish people!"

Then, Lindsey and I go into a long drawn out speech about how we are knitting Christmas presents and will be stressed out until Christmas, so shut up and let us knit! lol.

I have soooo much knitting I still have to do. I need to finish my mother's washcloth really bad. The worst part about knitting Christmas presents for your family, is that they are home. Oh my goodness. I was knitting my sister's hat in August. She comes into the playroom.
"What are you making?"
"A hat."
"Who is it for?"
"Nobody."
"Yes it is! You never knit for nobody!"
"Yes I do! I have total right to knit for anyone I choose and if I choose to knit for nobody, then I will knit for nobody!"

Seriously. I said that. I was stressed. One side of the hat was not cooperating. Sigh. I will have to work on my mom's facecloth Friday night while I am baby-sitting. I have a Finding Nemo game downloaded on my computer, so I can set us up with a bowl of popcorn, a Christmas movie, and have one of the triplets on the coputer, and I can knit! Perfect!!!

I probably need to go to bed now. Good-night!

Lots of Pictures!!!!

I am so sorry I haven't posted lately. I baby-sat almost all weekend, and I have been very busy at school lately. We went on a field trip last week at school to Montgomery and I took my camera. I took a ton of pictures! Here they are:
That picture is of me and Lindsey. I love that picture even though my hair looks absolutly AWFUL!!! It is a good picture of the two of us though.

That is Zach, Lindsey's boyfriend. I took that picture while looking up at him, which is why it looks kind of funny. It is a good picture. I may frame it and give it to him in his basket. Or, I could give it to his mother. I don't know.

This is one half of my mom's Christmas present. It is really hard to make presents for my family at home. At least with my dad's present it is Fun Fur, so he won't think it is for him. I decided to make a hat instead of a tie. I couldn't find a cute tie pattern I liked. ANYWAY..........

These are the first two of Mrs.Ann's dishcloths. I took these a few weeks ago, so I have that set done now. My mom gave them to her before I could snap a picture of them.

I have been working very hard on Christmas presents for people all the time. I think that I am going to write my list of poeple's Christmas presents the day after Christmas this year. That way, I can get the little presents out of the way, when I have a million dollars worth of Michael's gift cards to buy the yarn I need. I am going to be very busy, My goal is to keep my Christmas present cabinet full!!!

One Set Done, One To Go!

I finished the first set of Mrs.Ann's dishcloths today at school. The fourth dishcloth was not nearly as bad as the third. Last night I couldn't sleep so at eleven thirty I was laying in bed working away on the dishcloth. A few minutes ago. I cast on and worked up until the cable round on Erin's Fetching fingerless gloves from Knitty. So far, I like them. I have decided that I will not be cabling without the cable needle for this cable project. That is how I did the first cable round and it did not work well. I ended up mad at it, so I put it down. I am abou to go to bed, but I wanted to say that I am sooooooo close to being done with the Christmas presents I plan on making. I am baby-sitting until late Friday night, and then almost all day Saturday, so I am going to try and convince my mother to take me to our yarn shop, Knit'n'Stitch so I can get the needles I need for Lindsey's hat. Her basket is looking very cute. I am thinking that I am going to knit a lining around the edge. How should I attach it? Thanks a million!

Cursed Dishcloth Complete!!

Finally!!!!! I have been working on a third dishcloth for Mrs.Ann for THREE days! Three!!! THe reason it took me so long, was the fact that I messed up a grand total of FIFTEEN times!! I never mess up that many times! EVER! It was soooo weird. I finally finished that one last night while chatting online with Eric and Lindsey, two of my really good friends. I was typing in caps how many rows I had left by the end! The cursed dishcloth is FINALLY done. YEAH!!

Off the subject of dishcloths, onto the subject of Christmas presents. I have officially finished 15 of 18. Today, I finished up my mom's Christmas present, which is two washcloths, uusing the ballband pattern (33 stitches, 9 bands) and an adorable bar of gingerbread men soap that I found for a dollar at Michaels! I am going to have t oget some more! That is the best preent for teachers. Since I have six, I may want to get started! lol.

When I figure out how to get my pictures onto the computer with this new thing my dad got I will post pictures of them. The funniest thing about my mom's present is that she bought the soap! She saw it and said, why don't I buy that for you. I didn't know I would be using it for her Christmas present!

The other Christmas present I have completed is my uncle's hat. I decided to give the camo hat that was orginally his, to my grandfather, who hunts. I found a hat that I finished a couple of months ago. I thought that I could just give him that. It is still handknitted!

Bye for now! I have to go back to school tomorrow. Blah!

If I See Another Dishcloth...

I think I'll SCREAM!!!!!! This can't be the best mood to be in, considering I have to finish knitting my third one for this first set, then make seven more. I'm going to die. At least two of them aren't as big. They are facecloths. I am going to pair them up with some pretty soap for my mother for Christmas. I think that I will do them with Ecru and a blue mulitcolored cotton. I think it will look good. I am going to get so sick of Ballband Dishcloths! Next year, I will probably use the Mason-Dixon Washcloth pattern. I have started a Booga Bag using some blue wool that my mom got me in Black Mountain, North Carolina, at a shop called Wilde & Wooly. I love that shop, but it is expensive. So, I just let my mom buy the yarn. It works. Today, my mom and I are going to Micheals, with Gram, my great grandmother. She is driving my mother crazy! Gram is my dad's grandmother. She used to tell me I knit wrong. I told her alright, and kept on knitting just like I do right now. She stopped saying stuff after I learned to knit aocks and she can't. Oh the joys of an internet tuturial. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Two In One Day!

Wow! Two posts in one day! I made so much progress on the dishcloths I felt I had to post. I finished 2 out of 4 dishcloths today. They are very very pretty. Today, we went up to the camp house. I liked it up there. It was a tiny little hunting camp with a whole lot of beds and a tiny little kitchen. In the "den" I guess you could call it, there was the best, softest rocking chair ever! I curled up in that and knitted away by the fire place. I had so much fun. Of course, being sick, I had no desire what so ever to go outside and mess around with stuff until lunch. At lunch, we sat at the table beside my dad's uncles and cousins and aunts. I like his cousins. There is a big age difference between them. Daddy is 40, and his youngest cousin is about 19 I think. Something like that. I like them. They tend to remember that I exist which is nice. They always talk to me. It is really nice. Anne Harris is a really good horseback rider and is ending her show career in February. I really don't know much else about them, just that they are nice, loud, and funny just like everyone else in the Jones family. We decided on plans for the Jones Family Christmas Party. It is going to be at our house. On Christmas Eve everyone is going to come over around 6. We are going to eat and play Dirty Santa, then go to the 11'o'clock Christmas Eve service. I can't wait! Happy Thanksgiving!

Dishcloths Galore

I have knitted 7 of the reverse stockinette stripes on Mrs.Ann's mother's dishcloth. It is turning out very cute so far. After this dishcloth I will have 11 more dishcloths to make before Christmas. Knowing me, I will probably start my mother's dishcloths 2 days before Christmas. That will give me one full day, then two or three church services that I can knit in, and a movie. One of our traditions is that PopPop, my other grandfather, takes Catherine and me to a movie, so Mama can cook. I can get a lot of knitting done during a movie. Other than that present I have to make a hat for PopPop, a tie for Daddy using Fun Fur as a joke, Odessa for Lindsey, and a shawl for Erin. I am doing good with Christmas presents this year! I am cramming in some more knitted items for EACM. I have made two bandannas, one scarf, and two pairs of mittens. I am thinking about using all my leftover yarn from Chirstmas and making a couple of scrap hats. That would be pretty cute I think.

Oh, the reason I am posting is because I woke up at six-fifty this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So, you got a post for Thanksgiving!

Happy Happy Happy Thanksgiving!

Stupid Camera Card

My computer is being stupid. It won't accept my camera card, which means I have no pictures to show you! Stupid computer. Anyway, in case you can't tell by the avatar, I am sick. The day before Thanksgiving. I can't taste anything. This totally and completely sucks. Eric gets Fuggles for the week which means that I get him for Christmas. Eric and I are trying to decide what to put in his stocking that I knit him.Eric thikns we should get him a calculator.

In my knitting news, Mrs.Ann Storie, the lady I made the ballband dishcloths for, has asked me to knit her two more sets for her mother and sister for Christmas presents. I bought the yarn today and started the first dishcloth. I am using Lilly's Sugar'n'Cream in yellow and playtime. It is very cute, if I do say so myself. I will probably finish it and maybe another one tomorrow. I will finish up the first one tomorrow in the car tomorrow and start the seconded one. Then, I hope to finish the second one tomorrow at the camphouse.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Funerals and Penguin Sweaters

Today was DaddyBill's funeral. It was pretty sad. The thing that got me was when Mr.Charlie started saying what he loved most about the grandkids. He said that me, being first, held the special place in his heart. He said that the thing he loved most was when I would snuggle up to him. I always did that. When we went over there once, before he was really sick that is what I did. I went over and I snuggled up to him and alomost fell asleep! It was great! My aunt, mom, dad, and I were all looking through some old pictures. We found some of the cutest ones from when us kids were little with DaddyBill!

Anyway, about the penguin sweaters. I have the two little stuffed penguins, Bruce and Cotton. They are soooo cute! I decided that even though they were penguins, they needed sweaters. So, I pulled out my Weekend Knitting book by Melaine Falick and started flipping through it. One of the first patterns in the book is a pattern for an egg cozy. I grabbed some yarn and cast on. I think it will be a little long on the boys, but, who cares? They're penguins! On Thursday, we are going to the camphouse as my dad calls it for Thanksgiving with the Jones family. That is what DaddyBill wanted to do, but he got to sick to do so. MamaLinda decided that since it was what DaddyBill wanted us to do, that is what we were going to do! Uncle Bruce and Uncle Cotton will be there, so I will have to get a picture of them holding their penguins! I hope to have the sweaters finished by then. It is a two and a half hour drive down there, so they may have more than one sweater.

I went ice skating with Lindsey, Zach, and Lindsey's youth group last night. I have a bruise right on the bottom part of my back and a pulled muscle in my arm! I was in pain during the funeral! lol.

I am going to the feast tomorrow at the preschool. I will have my camera in hand, so expect a lot of pictures!

Lindsey Stop Crying!

Lindsey, stop crying. This is a happy post. I got the cute little Pilgrim salt and pepper shakers. They are so adorable. I love them! Last nigth I bought to little penguins for the penguin attack force. Their names are Bruce and Cotton. They are sooooooooooo cute. I am making some adorable Santa hats for preemies in NICU. They are sooooo cute. It has a pom pom and a little white brim. So cute!

Sad Day Again

DaddyBill passed away this morning around eleven thirty. I found out this afternoon. The funeral will be Monday afternoon. It was odd. The first thing that came to mind was when I was a little girl only about five. My mom, sister, and I were all sitting at a table at the Oyster House in Mobile. I was wearing a little dress and we were waiting for DaddyBill. I say him coming and ran out to see him. He picked me up in this giant bear hug and lifted up my dress. Of course, everyone laughed but I didn't care. He carried me back to the table and I sat in his lap until my food came. That is my favorite memory of him. It is so odd. Last night my dad and I were talking about how I felt about DaddyBill's cancer. Then, today, he dies. I will not be posting until Tuesday probably. Have a great weekend!

I Had A Bad Day

You know the song Bad Day by Daniel Powder? Listen to that, and you will have my day. I got my progress report today. I have a 78 in math. I know why. I haven't gotten a chance to change some homewrok grades. I have to do that tomorrow. Hopefully it will raise my grade a lot. I have to pull it up to an A. I have to! In my English class we did this fun little assignment for days like today. Everyone got a sheet of paper. You wrote your name at the top in BIG letters. Then you pass them around and everyone has to put something they have noticed about you or that they like about you. Almost all of mine said either I have a good singing voice or I am good at "nitting". It made me laugh. I really needed that. Then, in P.E. we had to play Hero Ball. I hate that game so much. In case you haven't had the joy of playing Hero Ball, here is what you do. The teachers call out a letter. Sometimes they do it by the letter of your last name, or the letter of your first name. Then all of those people go out to the middle, where there are a bunch of balls. The teacher shouts GO and everyone grabss a ball and starts throwing them at each other. If you get hit you are out. Tomorrow I have to go to a big All-County rehearsal. It is during school, so I will miss some more school. Tomorrow night is the performance!!!

I finished my hat for DaddyBill. It is burgandy. He is a huge Alabama fan. My dad is going to take it to him tomorrow. Next week we are having Thanksgiving lunch with him. Is it okay that I'm scard that I'll start crying when I see him? Tonight my prayer was to have two good days this week. I started asking why God had to take him back. I started crying then. I hate crying. I've had to do to much of it this year.

Thanks for listening to me babble about my crappy day.

Sad Day

I found out today that there is no chance that my grandfather on my father's side will recover from his cancer. It has been going on since July and come to find out, he could die soon or in a few weeks. It is hard to believe that this is happening. I always assumed that DaddyBill would be around forever to hug me and tell me he loves me. It is so hard to think that he will be gone.

In happier news, because I am tired of being depressed, my All-County performance is Thursday night. I can't wait. We are singing a bunch of Christmas songs. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Speaking of, that is one of the songs we are singing.

Lindsey, my best friend, and her boyfriend have adopted two stuffed animals. A pink bunny named Chuckles the Funny Bunny and Charlie the Penguin. Chuckles is spending the night with me tonight because he does not like Charlie. I am going to get batteries from my dad to use for my camera so I can take it to school Friday and take pictures of me, my friends, and the animals. Patrick decided that Charlie is a member of the Penguin Attack Force.

By the way, this is the 50th post!!!!! YEA!!!!!!

More Cruise Pictures!!!

YEA!! I figured out how to get the pictures I downloaded upstairs to my laptop downstairs so I have more pictures!!! My mother found out yesterday that my entire family is coming to our house next a week from Wednesday!!! Holy crap!!!! My room has to be sooooooo clean. Gram will die if it isn't. I started the baby bolero from the book One Skein by Leigh Radford yesterday. I was going to make it for a teacher at school, who is pregnant with her first baby, a boy, but my mom said I shouldn't unless I do it in cotton so it can be worn a lot. I am using gray Wool-Ease for this one. It is looking pretty cute. I took some pictures, but then my camera died on me, so I couldn't finish. I should have them ready in the next couple of days.

Both of these pictures are of Fuggles and me in the room. Fuggles did not get to get out much. My mother would not let me take him places. How dare she! lol.

I am sooooo excited. Magic 96.5 (a radio station that plays oldies and stuff) has started their Christmas Sampler Weekends!!!! On the weekends they play Christmas music! I love Christmas so this is the perfect thing for me! I should probably start looking for a pattern for my mother's Christmas slippers, speaking of. I found the simplest rolled brim hat pattern to use for the men of my family. I'll use up most of my yarn!! Goody goody!

Why do I knit things for people for Christmas?? WHY? I have decided that next year I am going to get everyone a calander. I mean, seriously, everyone needs a calander, right! You agree, don't you?

OMG!!!! I just saw the previews for Law and Order Special Victims Unit!!!!!!! Why is Elliot kissing DANI!!!!!!! Dani needs to die. And with that, I sign off.

A Random Story of My Life

Hey everybody! I know I haven't posted in awhile, and I'm sorry! I have been so busy at school and with choir stuff. Tomorrow I am taking my camera to school and taking pictures of my friends and my favorite teacher evea, Mrs. Gerhardt. She is awesome!!!! I love her to death! I haven't gotten much knitting done. I made a couple dishcloths, but that's it. I made a cute little kitty cat one. Tomorrow morning I have to print out the first two days of the Monthly Dishcloth Knit-A-Long pattern. I can't wait to see what it is. I am going to upload all of my pictures tomorrow afternoon. I am very excited. You will get to see some of my ugly pictures from the cruise! One of my best friends, Erin, is spending the night Saturday night. We are having a parent's night out at my church that night and Erin wanted to help. I know for a fact that I am getting the youngest group. I will probably take my camera there, too. I should probably go to bed now!

I'm Back!!!!

Hey all! I am so sorry I haven't been around. Everything has been soooooooo hectic. When we got back from our cruise I had soooooooooo much math make-up work to do. It was ridiculus. Today I had to take a science test of sexual reproduction. OMG. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I was disgusted. I have gotten a lot of knitting done lately. I am also doing some stuff on my Knifty Knitter Looms. My sister bought two skeins of light blue Fun Fur and had planned on making a scarf on my little blue loom. About seven rows into it she stopped. That was about two months ago. Now, I need my blue loom. I told her I would finish up that scarf. When I am finished I plan on posting a picture, because...... MY CAMERA GOT FIXED!!!!!!! Right before we went on the cruise my dad fixed it. I have some pictures of the cruise I'll post when I get them downloaded. Audrey's birthday party was Saturday! It was so cute. I am going to get Eric to send me pictures. The theme was Little Einsteins. Very cute. I've got to go for now. Bye!

I am going on a cruise! I am going on a cruise! I will be gone from today until next Thursday, so I will not be able to post. I will be deprived from any computer. I think I will die. I am soooooooooooo excited. My parents have already been on this cruise and they say it is wonderful! By the way, Audrey's birthday is Monday!!!

Mrs.Ann's Dishcloths Done!

I fininshed knitting Mrs.Ann's dishcloths! They are so cute! I love them! Now I am knitting my mother's dishcloths. They are pretty cute. I am using diffirent blues all in one yarn with the creamy color mixed in. still using the ballband dishcloth pattern from Mason Dixon Knitting. I am so in love with that book.

My nine weeks exams are next Monday and Tuesday so I will probably be very busy. There is a zero to one percent chance that I will be posting. I will still be knitting away but not posting. So sorry in advance.

This week has been homecoming week! Yea! Monday was Tacky Day. Since I go to Clay-Chalkville, I wore a Hewitt shirt. Tuesday was Twin Day. Lindsey and I were twins! We wore oue Life is Good shirts, dark blue jeans, and our Crocs. Today was Generation Day! I wore my Goucho's and a teal shirt. I said I was from the eighties. My math teacher wore a dark blue poodle skirt. It was cute. Tomorrow is the night of the game. It is Cougar Spirit Day! I am good at that.

Bye for now!

I Am Making A Warshrag!!

I have caught the ballband craze! I am loving this pattern! I am making a set of dishclothes for a woman at my church who's aunt knits. She has made Mrs.Ann many knitted dishclothes but all of Mrs.Ann are sadly deceasing from use. She asked me to make her some so I am making a set of 4 ballband warshrags from the book Mason Dixon Knitting. The pattern is so fast! I already have it memorized. I am doing it in teal and cream and it is turning out great!!

You are going to think I am so weird. In my agenda book there is a little section for each week that says Weekly Goals and Priorities. For each week I have one or two Christmas listed that I plan on knitting that week! I am hoping that will get me through until Christmas. I decided that a cabled scarf would be faster to knit up than a hat, because I can do the scarf on size 10 or 11 needles while holding two strands of yarn together and make a thick warm scarf. So, that is what I am doing. I think for my teachers I will do a set of dishclothes each since they are fast. That can be my church knitting. I have so much cotton to buy! I can't wait!!

Bye for now!!

Making Myself Something!!

I am making myself something!! I know. Amazing isn't it! I am making the mitered square blanket from Mason Dixon Knitting. I may be crazy, but that is my plan. I am going to use up all of my Red Heart Super Saver. I made one today. It is big because I am using size 8 needles instead of size 6.

I am also officially freaking out! There is only 3 month's until Christmas and I still have 8 presents to make!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!! (imagine Help! by the Beatles playing). I have 6 hats, one 1 Hour Shawl to make, and I set of dishcloths. I will probably be doing the hats towards late November. There is a good chance I will be knitting my dad's on Christmas Eve. I have decided to make all of my weekend knitting the blanket. I actually want it done before 2010. LOL.

I told a woman at my church that I would knit her a set of dishcolths so I should probably get that done. Sigh. I don't know when I will do that. Probably this week at school. Hopefully.

I need to go get ready for church tonight. By the way, check out Mariska Hargitay's blog!!

Hey!

I am sorry I haven't posted! I have been so busy! I am going away for two days to go to a coir trip at Sumatanga. I can't wait! Lindsey and I went to a football game to hear the band play, because why else would a girl go to a football game? lol. THE BAND DIDN'T PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I was soooooo mad!

In knitting news, I have made a hat using my own pattern. I will post it sometime. I am working on two baby kimonos. they are cool. gtg

Finished Two Presents!!

Last night I finshed my Aunt Laurel's Christmas present. She wears very dull colors so I made her a scarf in hot pinks and bright yellows and lime greens. It is called Wild! by Moda Dea. I used the color Hot Tamale. It is relly soft and pretty. I managed to finish it in a day! I used size 9 needles.

I went to Michaels today and found out that they have 16" bamboo circulat knitting needles!!! I bought sizes 8 and 10. I also bought 2 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver in a cream color and a wine color. They should make a cool Alabama football hat. My family are HUGE Alabama fans. I am making my Uncle John a cream colored hat and DaddyBIll gets an Alabama hat. Uncle Patrick gets a cream colored hat and Pop Pop also gets an Alabama hat.

At school, I made a 100 on my social studies test!!!! He he he!

Hey Everybody!!!

I am on the last dishcloth for my aunt!!! Hip hip hooray!! I can get 2 1/3 dishclothes out of one skein of Lily Sugar and Cream. That means I will have enough yarn to make another set for a lady at church.

Last night I had the worst nightmare! You know Audrey? Well, she is a major part. Now, listen.
I was in 4th period enrichment. I get a slip to check out. I gather all my stuff then go to the Welcome Center. My dad is there to take me to the hospital because Audrey was in a coma. I go and sit with her while Eric and Michelle go get something to eat. So I am sitting there telling her she has to wake up because Sarah needs her Audrey back and needs an Audrey hug. So, I am holding her hand when the song There's Holes In The Floor of Heaven starts playing. Suddenly she dies, while she is holding my hand. Next scene is at the funeral. I am sobbing. After the funeral I go to hug Eric and Michelle when Eric starts yelling at me! I run from the cemetery and hear the church bell ringing. Actually, it was my alarm.
Out of dream.

So, the dream started my day off nicely. Then my stomach hurt all day. It feels like when I mono in 5th grade. I did not have a good day.

That was the end of my day. I will have another pic of Audrey tomorrow. Hopefully no more continuations of that dream!!

Aunt's Christmas Present Going, Going, Going!!!!

I went to Michaels last night with Catherine and Nicole. I bought 4 skeins of Lily Sugar and Cream in Hot Blue, a pair of bamboo size 7 knitting needles, and a little one dollar journal with a beach chair on the front to have to write my knitting stuff in. I only spent twelve dollars, too!!!!!!!! I was so impressed. For my Aunt Monica, I am knitting 4 dishclothes, with the first intials of her family. My Uncle John, and cousins Michael and Clohe. I have finished Aunt Monica's M dishcloth and I am working on the J cloth. They are pretty cute!! I got the pattern from Knitting Knonsense. That is a great site!! I got the book Mason Dixon Knitting, I may have told you that, and I am going to knit a baby bib set for a teacher at my school. She is the home ec. teacher and knows how to knit, but I could knit something for her. I had her last year. I think I will knit the bibs in a cream color. They will be cute!!!

I was going through some old pics and found a cute one of me and Audrey at Easter. Isn't it cute!! She has grown so much since then! Her birthday is a little more than a month away. I am soo sad she is growing up!!

You are probably bored listening to me whine about her growing up. I don't really have anything else to talk about so I will go. Bye for today!!

Friday, September 01, 2006

Hey Ya'll!!!!

What up??? How are ya? I have gotten some crocheting done. I have decided to use a size J hook, and some little balls of yarn to make a cute little log cabin blanket for Fuggles. Speaking of Fuggles, is this not the cutest pic!! It's Eric, Audrey, and Fuggles at Animal Kingdom!! I luv it!!!

So far I have finished a bunch of Christmas presents. I have finished all of the kid presents, so now I am not to stressed out. I was just worried about not finishing the kid presents. All, I am saying is that Michael better say thank you, because that catterpillar was one of the most boring things I have ever worked on!!!!! I will post some pics of Christmas presents pretty soon!!

I am watching Cold Case Files. It is pretty good. I have learned that Without A Trace is pretty good. I like Detective Samantha Spade. She is pretty cool. The regular Law and Order is okay, too. I have learned to love Law and Order Criminal Intent. It is awesome. Oh, and congats to Mariska Hargitay on her Emmy!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooo mad at the Emmy people for Christopher Meloni not winning!!!!!!!! I was like, screaming at the t.v.

Bye for now. I'll post tomorrow!

I Had A Really Crappy Day

and I am really not in the mood to talk about it so I will talk about my new favorite book, Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I need to be getting to "bed", so I will lwave you with this thought. In a world of extreme beauty, anything normal is ugly.

So Sorry I Haven't Posted!!!

I have been soo busy with school!!! I haven't had time to get much knitting done. I am skipping a year of math and taking pre-algrebra when I already suck at math so my afternoons have been filled with homework. My mom has also been bugging me to clean my room for a few weeks now so I am "cleaning". Today I get to go to a wedding. My favorite little girl ever is going to be the flower girl though, so I will get to see her walk down the aisle in her little flower girl dress. If I can get Eric to send me pictures of her at the wedding I will post them.

In knitting news, I have not been knitting much of anything. I crocheted a pair of mittens to use as stocking stuffers for a charity that my church supports. E.A.C.M. (Eastern Area Christian Ministires) is a very cool organization. Every Christmas they collect things for children that they put in stockings. So far I have finished three pairs of mittens and a scarf. I am going to make myself finish at least four dishclothes next week. My parents are going on a cruise for my dad's 40th b'day so my little sister and I will have a baby sitter.

By the way, this is a new laptop. My old one died. That is part of why you have not heard from me. By the way, if you had a choice, what would you choose for the background color? You have until Labor Day to vote!

On The SIN WAGON!!!

Hey! This is me and my bff Lindsey!!! We are broadcasting LIVE from the guest room, a.k.a the cave. Lindsey and I will do a joint post tonight all about school, Gilmore Girls, and Law and Order, plus other random things that pop into our minds.

Lindsey:
Hey guys!!! It's like almost 10:30 pm and Sarah and I are trying to come up with ideas for our fanfiction gilmore girls story. Ha Ha we started watching When a Stranger Calls but wimped out. I mean it is like 10:30!!! Anyways I've listen to the song Sin Wagon by the Dixie Chicks about 42 times now. Hence the title.

Sarah:
Hey guys!! Sorry about not posting. As it ended up we did go to Atlanta. We got soooo busy I haven't had a chance to post. I spent the night at a friend's house like three days in a row. Then we had to register and do all that junk. I ended up with pre-algrebla. I am very excited because Lindsey and I have like almost all of our all of our classes together. I can't wait. In case I haven't said anything I am also a HUGE HUGE Gilmore Girls fan! Lindsey and I discovered that was one of the many things we have in common. Lindsey's turn!!!

Lindsey:
Totally brain blasting right now me and Sarah are bursting with ideas. I think our story will be great!!
I'm so excited about school!! I know it is very late but I am awake. I just got registrated last tuesday. I went and got my id picture taken today. I WANT MY SCHEDULE!!! The story is long but I'll tell you why Sarah and I had to get our schedule redone.

At the end of the year we had just taken our math placement test and we both got 3 points which would only get us in honors math. We were kind of upset but we were happy with honors math. I know the pre-algebra teacher and she said she wanted us in her pre-algebra class next year. We were kind of upset and didn't want to be in pre-algebra but after a while we got used to the idea.

Fast foward to about now!!! We went to get registered and guess what!! Our schedules said we had honors!! We were shocked but happy we had 7 classes out of 8!! We told the math teacher what happened to our schedules and we said to leave. Next week we found out the teacher had changed our schedules. So now we are waiting to get our new schedules while we knit our elves.

Sarah:
I am knitting baby elves for me, lindsey, and our bff maegan. they are little two inch dolls. pretty cute pretty cute!! i am getting my camera fixed tomorrow. bye!!

love ya,
lindsey and sarah

Atlanta??

Well, it looks like Atlanta may be a no go. My mom has bronchitos and walking pneumonia. Fun. I am spending the night with my best friend Erin so I may be going to a new church with her. I really don't want to leave my new friend Kylie alone with Miranda though. You never knw. I may end up at Grace. I registered for school and discovered that Xan and Ruthie, the two people I hate the most right now, aren't in any of my classes!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!! I think I have SSS (Seconded Sock Syndrome). I really don't want to work on the seconded sock. I think I will make myself do two inches a night until I finish. I am making a felted clutch from the book One Skein by Leigh Radford for my secret pal. I am doing it in Landscapes. It is really pretty. I have to finish my hat today for Sara Deihl's birthday party Tuesday. I think she will like it.

Hat Started, Sock Finished

I finished my first sock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is really ugly but I like it. I have also started a hat from the book Kids Knitting. It is turning out pretty good. I am using up some old scraps of pink, yellow, orange, and purple. I like it so far. It is probably going to end up at a charity. I think some little girl will enjoy it. Still no luck with the camera. I asm hoping to get it fixed soon. We are going to Atlanta Friday so I should get some cute pics of my knitting in progress. GTG!!

Madame Knits-A-Lot!!

Hello everyone, you can call me Madame Knits-A-Lot! lol. I finished a pair of red and pink crocehted mittens a few days ago along with Catherine's Christams present. It is a hat from the book Kids Knitting. The author is Melanie Falick. I am now working on a wallet to use up scrap yarn from the same book. I have to register for school this Tuesday. I will finally get to see my two best friends Lindsey and Maegan. Shout out to them!!!! I am working on a bias scarf from the Knit It holiday 2005 magazine. I am using some old junky yarn on seventeen's. I made the stupid mistake of leaving my computer at my aunt's house which is why I haven't been posting as much. My dad is fixing my camera so you may be able to actually see pictures of the projects I am working on!! Bye for now!!

Lots and Lots of Knitting!!!

My camera hates me. Seriously. It hates me. I have yet to figure out what is wrong with it. Time to call in my dad. lol. I am busily working on the crazy catterpillar from Kids Knitting by Melane Falick for my cousin Michael. Is it sad that I still don't know how to spell his name? The catterpillar is red, blue, yellow, and black for the in between stripes. It is turning out very cute if I do say so myself. Last Wendsday Audrey and Michelle came over to swim. I spent most of my time in the shallow end with Adurey. When I would do a flip off the diving board I would come up out of the water and hear Audrey saying, "Sarah, you okay?" It was soo cute!!! I finished crocheting one pair of mittens. They are orange with purple Tutu form Moda Dea around the bottom and flowers! I used Bevs Marvelous Mitten Pattern. I am making a pair in cream with Moda Dea WILD! in Denim. They are pretty cute. I am baby sitting two kids Saturday night. I think they are 6 and 2. Something around there. They are very sweet! I can't wait. I need to go finish my catterpillar!

Happy Birthday Eric!!!

Happy B'day Eric!!! Yesterday afternoon my mom, sister, and I went to Michaels!!! They finally got the size 50's from Lion Brand in!! I bought a pair and last night I made the One-Hour Pom-Pom Wrap! It is soooo cute! I did it in blue and white so I can wear it to school. It is my school colors. I got a wonderful idea to sew up the sides and make it a shrug. I will do that on the next one. Sorry bout the short post!

Sorry I Haven't Posted!!

Well, my great-grandfather died on the 4th of July. My sister and I went down with my parents for the funeral. I am trying to decide if crying 4 times in one week should be considered normal for an awful week. I got to see my cousins and uncle for the first time in a year or so. They came to stay with us for a couple of days. I was so mad that my mom wouldn't let me watch Law and Order SVU because it freaks my sister out. I was like, this is sooo not fair. I ended up getting stuck watching The Suite Life of Zach and Cody and That's So Raven. In the mornings I had to watch the Backyardigans. Doesn't that sound fun! I started a Branching Out scarf in Caron Simply Soft light blue on size 6 needles. I have finished 16 pattern repeats. It is lookly soooo good. I think I will give that one to my aunt for Christmas. She may end up getting the white scarf that she said she likes a lot. I have already finished Mary Margaret and Phillip's presents. Mary Margaret is getting the hot pink and light pink headbands I finished a few weeks ago and Phillip is getting a brown cable scarf. DaddyBill is getting better. The docters have confirmed that he has cancer. I suppose I will hope for the best. He will hopefully be fine. My best friend Erin is sitting here confusing me. Something about how when friends are talking about something they can get off into whole new subjects. There she goes again. I should probably go get back to work on my Branching Out scarf. Bye!!

Really Bad Day

All day I heard Bad Day by Daniel Powter going in my head. My grandfather is okay I guess but Daddy preached about it today. I heard stuff that had been guarded from me. I cried a few tears. At lunch with my aunt we got a phone call that said my great-grandfather is really really not doing well. My aun't cell phone rings. She is gone from the table a few minutes and comes back crying. My sister and I am sent to wait in the Olivie Garder waiting area for a little while. We leave. On the way home I cry. In front of my sister. I hate crying in front of her. Then I allow myself to lay around on the couch and talk to my BFF who is moving in a week all day about setting up a guy that asked me out with someone we know likes him. We can't wait!! I take a nice long hat bubble bath then get my dad to talk like Chip and Dale!! It was so funny. Then Dale got Larry and Gitis. lol. I casted on for a new baby hat and bootie set. Not much else done today. Please pray for my grandfathers. Please.

Baby Green Stripes!!

Last night my parents came home with "surprises"!! Can you guess what I got? Yarn!!!!!!!! It is Bernat Baby Coordinates Sweet Stripes in the green color. My mom got it so I could knit the baby blanket on the yarn label. She said that she wanted to see if me work with the yarn. I just asked myself how I get roped into this stuff! lol. Anyway, I asked her who I should give this to, considering I have no reason to keep it. She got the idea that I should give it to Eric and Michelle when they ever have another baby, for Baby Green!! (Eric, Michelle, and Audrey Green) LOL! I have gotten a couple inches done on it and it is very very cute. Happy early Independence Day by the way!! I may not get back to you until after 4th of July by the way. My Aunt Laurel is coming today and has to stay in my room. I get the mattress in the playroom right in front of the t.v. I figure that I can get in some serious SVU watchings! LOL!!!

Broke It Again!

Okay, so buying a skein of yarn for charity doesn't count right??? I was at Michaels walking up and down the yarn aisle when I decided that it was too depressing since I had told myself I couldn't buy any of the yarn. I decided to walk down the clerance aisle. What do I find you ask? A skein of Jamie Pompodour Jumbo or something like that. THREE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!! THREE!! I couldn't resist. I bought it, or technically Mrs. Janet bought it, but anyway. I also got size seven bamboo needles. They are wonderful. I am now wroking on the patchwork blanket from the book that I got that will most likely end up at a hospital.

My grandfather is getting moved from Foley to Birmingham today. That means that my parents can get back and I can go home and not end up at someone else's house all day. I am posting from Mrs. Janet's by the way.

Last night I made up a cute little sweater pattern for baby dolls. I stil have the baby doll that I ahve had since I was three. Her name is Savannah. There are so many good memories associated with Savannah that I just couldn't give her away. So, I made her an adorable little sweater last night. If I ever figure out what I did I will post the pattern. LOL!

FOr the blanket I thought that I would use white, pink, yellow, and blue yarns. What do you think? Should I add in a purple? Please give me your insight!

Hi All

Hey! I babysat today and got twenty dollars and a Sassy Nails gift certificate. I can get my nails done now. I bought the book Total Baby Knits by Candi Jenson. It has the most adorable patterns! I got to see Alec yesterday!! He is soooooo cute! Now I can't wait for him to get a little bigger so I can make him some sweaters and stuff. I can probably knit some of the stuff now and give it to them this fall. Ava asked us yesterday if we wanted to see Marcus's room. I almost died laughing! It was so cute. Ava just got new big girl furniture. She was so excited. I wanted to hold Alec but both grandmother's were there so I didn't stand a chance. I figure I have plenty of time. I have decided that the people in our church need to have more children so I will have more little babies to knit for. I have decided that there is nothing better than seeing a baby wearing something that you made. I am going to have to knit a little label and sew Made By... and my name. I can't wait to start. This is the first little boy that has been at the church! There are only girls! It is so exciting to have a baby boy to knit for! If anybody has the book and can offer some color options for a little baby boy besides blue and green I would love to hear them! Thanks!

Adorable Hat Set!

I made the most adorable little baby hat and bootie set! I got the hat pattern from Lion Brand. It is the Queen of Hearts newborn/preemie hat. The booties are from Ooo Baby Knits. I was at church and didn't have my size 5's with me, so I used size 8 double points. I used Red Heart Super Saver in a light pink. They are the smallest size which made them aproximently large preemie size. I did a seed stitch cuff instead of the rib. They are the cutest booties I've made, if I do say so myself. This will put me at 5 sets so far. Only 45 left to go! LOL! I am going to start a goal. One set a day until the end of summer vacation. Then one set every two days when school starts. That should get me to my goal. Maybe even a little past my goal. I can't wait to meet Jennifer and Brian's new baby! I am planning on making Ava some stuff so she won't feel left out. I think I will be making little Alec a sweater for this fall. Anybody have any good patterns. The only babies I have ever knit for have been girls. The only patterns I have ever tried are much to girlie for a little boy! SO, does anyone have any ideas. Shout out to Kelsey if u read this!!!

Alec Gregory

Hey all! Jennifer and Brian's baby arrived! His name is Alec Gregory. I kept thinking that Ava is going to be so confused. Eric, Michelle, and Audrey got back last night, so I saw Eric today. Eric left Fuggles at home today. He said Fuggles slept late. I just laughed. Fuggles is going to come with me tomorrow.

Mrs. Linda loved the baby booties and hats! I gave Margie Voltz the hat and booties that I made her to give to a friend and she payed me $20! I had already told her that she was not to pay me anything! I was like, Margie you are not to pay me anything! She did anyway.

The pool is finally fixed! We can swim now!

Last Day of Vacation

It's my last day of vacation. I am kind of sad, but man am I ready to sleep in my own bed! This week I finished my best friend Lindsey's Christmas present, DaddyBill's scarf, four baby hats, and three baby bootie sets to go with the hats. I have to make the fourth pair of baby booties in the car today to give to Mrs. Linda Wanniger tomorrow at church. I will have to get her to take a picture of the babies wearing the hats and booties.

I made a baby hat from the book One Skein last month for a couple at my church who are having a little boy. They have a two-year-old named Ava who I have posted about before, I think. Anyway, they wither had their baby last night or they are having him today. I asked Jennifer to e-mail me a picture of him wearing the hat once he arrives so I will probably be able to post that sometime soon. I still don't know his name. Ava keeps calling him Marcus, but Jennifer and Brian keep telling us that his name will not be Marcus. I like Steven or Mason.

Mrs. Kelly, the other person who rode down with us, has a kidney infection and is misrable. My mom had a miagrane yesterday. I decided that it was going to be a long ride back to Birmingham! Two sick woman, a six year old, and me. Wish me luck!

This time, Sara and I will have something to watch besides Full House this time. We will have Cheaper By the Dozen 2 and a couple other movies. Hip hip hooray!!!!

Hi All!!

Hello everyone! I feel great! I love the way the beach makes me feel. I already have a tan and I am pink all around my eyes and nose. I finished DaddyBill's scarf today. I think that it is the most impressive thing I have ever knit!!! Hip hip hooray! The kids did a newspaper today for camp and since I had been working so much on the scarf they decided to put in the fake newspaper that my scarf was for sale for $35. I laughed very hard at that!

I finished a baby hat today and I am about to begin the little booties to match. I have my yellow baby yarn with me, too, so I will probably make another set this week. I still need to get started on some more Christmas presents, but I was nice to myself and only brought yarn to make myself stuff and little babies some warm hats and booties.

By the way, the above picture is another Audrey pic that I had. Isn't it cute!!!

First Post From Flordia!

Well, I am here! I haven't been to the beach yet, but I am going around 7:45 according to the schdule, The ride down here was so much fun! Sara and I watched the complete 2nd season of Full House and then threw pillows at each other the last ten minutes. Mrs. Kelly and my mom loved that. LOL!

I finished Lindsey's present except for the finishing, I will put that off as long as I can!! LOL! I broke my yarn diet today at Michaels. We had to go and get some stuff for the camp and I was looking at the yarn when I saw Liffy by Lion Brand in the color Camel. I had to get it for my grandfather's, DaddyBill, Christmas present, the Double Cable Scarf from the book One Skein. I have finished the cabling for the beggining and am now working on the Knit 2, Purl 2 rib. It is going very quickly! I decided that since the yarn was already in use and was for a gift, it didn;t really matter that I broke the diet. I am glad I don't have any more Christmas presents to make down here after this one! I am planning on making a couple of baby hats (can you guess what book the pattern is from?) while I am down here so I brought my size 6 double points and yellow and pink baby yarns. I haven't started them yet.

I didn't originally bring my computer with me because I didn't think we would have wireless network down here, but when my mom found out we did she called my dad and asked him to send it down with Catherine. Mama of course didn't tell me so when I saw Will with it, I squeled and ran over there. I heard Mrs.Kelly saying see you on Friday!

I can't believe it is only Monday! I am going to get so much done this week (which probably will include catching up on sleep) it won't even be funny!

Eric, Michelle, Audrey, and Fuggles are all down with Muckey in Flordia!

Sad Night, Good Day

Last night I was up until 4:30 reading Law and Order SVU fan fiction on the site svufanfiction.com. Remind me never to read the 6 Feet Under series at three a.m. alone. It was already sad but everything is magnified at 3 a.m. acording to Eric. Anyway, I just read it again and it was just as sad.

In other news, my mom took Catherine (my sister) and me to get a manicure or peticure. Considering I do not like people toucing my feet, I decided on a manicure. I amnot one who goes wild on color, so I picked a simple, shiny polish, called Cotton Candy. It turned out really pretty. Oddly enough, the person who did my nails had been up until 4:30 as well. Tonight I actually have to sleep because at 8:00 tomorrow morning a two-year-old is coming over and at 9:30 the triplets are coming. I can't sleep until 10:00 again!

I got a little knitting done today but not much. I worked a little on my Horseshoe Lace scarf and my friend Lindsey's Christmas present. The present is turning out really well. I am impressed with it if I do say so myself. Don't mean to gloat.

You know what really bugs me about Law and Order SVU? They don't ever hug or say everything will be okay, or express feelings near other people! It is very annoying. Call me obsessed if you want.

Who is Fuggles?

This is Eric and his two-year old daughter Audrey who I love love love!
To answer my own question, Fuggles is a doll that I knit. My friend Eric and I decided to treat him like a little person. We now have two week trade things with him and he wears little people diapers. Eric and his family are going down to Disney World, so of course Fuggles is going. I will post a picture of him and Eric with Mickey.

In other news, I only have 14 more Chirstmas gifts left!! This mean I can fit in a cute halter top for me. Next week I will be posting from the beach!!! My mom is directing a camp down there. My sister is going to be there, so I am going along. The person directing with my mom is her BF and her daughter Sara, who is going into 2nd grade (I feel sooooo old), so I will get to hang out with Sara by the pool, knit, swim and of course post.

I finished the double cable scarf from the book One Skein for my grandfather today!! Hip hip hooray!!!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Too Much!!!!!!!

I have finished a cute little clutch from the book One Skein by Leigh Radford. It is called the clutch you will never give up. It is originally a felted little tiny clutch, but the way I made it was non-felted. I used size 10 24" circular needles and a skein of Homespun yarn from Lion Brand. I bought the yarn from Hobby Lobby. It was in a big bag (three skeins) for 5 dollars! All of it was unlabeled dye lot yarn. Most of it was very ugly but you couldn't tell that from the outside of the bag. Anyway, for the clutch I didn't tuck in the corners and didn't felt it. I did a four row length instead of two for the part above the handle and I used seed stitch since I wasn't felting. It looks very cute. I am going to be making one in white then a tote bag in blue with a pocket in white. I was away for a week while my parents were up in monitored, North Carolina. They have a very nice yarn shop in Black Mountain called Wild and Wooly. Though very expensive, it is good quality. My mom bought me a 20 dollar skein of 100% wool to make a cute felted tote bag. It has 435 yards in it. The yarn was in a hank and it took me forever to wind it. I watched Law and Order SVU while winding.

I don't think I have mentioned how much I love love love Law and Order SVU. By the way, if anyone knows which episode Olivia gets attacked in, I would like to know!

I am almost completely finished with my headbands, I am on the last row of the last one. This puts me almost done with three Christmas presents and done with two. I am making my grandfather the double cable scarf in a dark brown from the book One Skein. I love that book! I have made 8 projects from the book and I am about to start another. I love the book because you can make so many variations from the book. I am planning on posting a picture next week of the clutches that I have been making. Talk to you guys later!

One Headband Done!

I finished one of the headbands that I have to do. That leaves two more. I finished one of the headbands yesterday. By the way, would you use loops at the bottom of a man's bookmark or fringe? Your advice on this would help very much!

Christmas Plan

I finished the headband!!!! Now I only have 3 headbands, and 4 kercheifs left! LOL! I have decided to give my little girl cousins hair things. Any girl can have fun with that, right? The headband came out very cute. I used the light pink Red Heart and some hot pink Cascade 220. I still have plenty of yarn left for more exciting headbands and kercheifs. I thought that I was doing good with my Christmas presents but after looking at the Knitters Review forum, I guess I was wrong. I am happy that I like using up yarn, or this yarn diet would not be a good thing. I will check back in a little bit later, probably after finishing the next headband which is going to be light pink and white.Bye!

Two FO's and Lots of Frogging

Happy Memorial Day! To all the people who read this, you will be proud of me. I finished two things today! Two crocheted bookmarks.

Hook Size: I/9
Yarn: Read Heart Super Saver in a light pink (I lost the yarn label)
Notes: Easy pattern, made to help out my yarn diet and encourage me to make something big.

In other news, I have gone on a yarn diet this summer. Right now I am set on using up my yarn, instead of buying more. I have decided to wait until the very end of summer vacation, then go to the the LYS and buy lots and lots of yarn! I am eagerly using up yarn! I had this tiny ball left over of the pink Red Heart so when I saw the little crocheted bookmark I had to make some. Next on my list is to use the leftover Red Heart and two other pinks to make a crocheted headband. That will probably be finished today, as well. I have enough Homespun yarn from Lion Brand to make one hundred pairs of mittens so I will probably be making many pairs of mittens for Christmas presents this year. I guess I have talked long enough today, so for now, bye!

Where I Am Getting My Lace Stitches

To whoever left me the comment, I got the snowflake lace stitch and the horseshoe lace stitch in a booklet that I got at Wal-Mart! You have to love Wal-Mart! It is called A Beginner's Guide to Knit Stitches and Easy Projects, published by Leisure Arts. It is an awesome booklet! I am not a huge fan of most of the projects, but I love all the diffrent stitch patterns. Many of these stitches I had never heard of, but they are beutiful!!

Anyway, I am so excited about Memorial Day tomorrow! We have a couple people coming over to cook-out hamburgers and hot dogs which I have been waiting to have for days!! Tomorrow, I can hang out around the house and watch the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, which I have heard is very good, and knit. I still have to work on my Horseshoe Lace scarf, and post a picture for the Amazing Lace. I will talk to you later!

Soul Patrol!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Taylor!!! Shout out to Eric!!! Luv ya!!

5 Pattern Repeats, Two Year Old, Yarn Store

So far I have five pattern repeats done on my Horseshoe Print lace scarf. It is soooooooooooooooooo gorgous! Last night at the American Idol party, I did not end up on kid duty until the very end. Catherine, the only little girl, was so tired, as was I, and we ended up asleep on my mom's bed. THey ended up having to go home right after that, so we were woken up, and I carried her out to the car. Her brother's managed to stay awake. Funniest qoute of the evening was Michael saying that he isn't brave about the dark, but he is brave about dangerous things, like centipedes and spiders. I was shaking from trying not to laugh!

In other news we may end up with a two-year-old, Ava, today. I would love to see her in a yarn store. We might get to go so I can buy some yarn and get started on Mary Margaret's (my cousin) clutch purse that she is getting for Christmas. I have to post a to do list on here so I wil be motivated to finish things! I need to go knit so bye for now!

Can You Say Bye-Bye Lace Scarf?

Let's just say that my snowflake lace scarf got frogged today at school which by the way is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started a horseshoe lace scarf with the same yarn on the same needles. Well, I really couldn't use anything else because that was the only stuff I had in my purse. We are having an American Idol party tonight to vote for Taylor!! I can't wait! I have to go clean up because the people who are coming are bringing their kids, so I will probably end up on kid duty. Today I got to go to our preschool at my church and had to watch the kids for the teacher clean-up day and made 11 dollars! I now have $70 cash! Most of it made baby-sitting. Can you say more yarn?

New Lace Scarf

I am working on this pretty lace scarf. It is using a snowflake lace pattern in a light gray yarn. I am using size 4 needles so it is very slow going. I have done two twelve row pattern repeats and I am working on the third. School is almost overso I will have plenty of time to knit!

In other news I am allso working on a dark blue petal bib from the book One Skein from Interweave Press. It is written by Leigh Radford. I love love love love this book! So far I have made the cute felted clutch, the square drawstring bag, a pink petal bib, the baby hat,the cupcakes, and the pom-pom boa. I am in love with this! The more yarn I use the more my parents will buy me! I am all about buying new yarn!

Speaking of new yarn, we just got a new yarn shop down here in Clay! It is called Knit'n'Stitch. Compared to Michaels, it has a small amount of yarn, but that yarn is very good quality! I have bought some King Cole DK in light pink and knit a gorgues Branching Out scarf with it. It was my first lace project and I am very proud of it. I will post a picture of it if I remember! I also bought some hot pink Cascade 220 for my felted clutch. I will post pictures of that as well!

I need to go study for my final two exams tomorrow! Two more hours of school!!!!!
