Broke It Again!

Okay, so buying a skein of yarn for charity doesn't count right??? I was at Michaels walking up and down the yarn aisle when I decided that it was too depressing since I had told myself I couldn't buy any of the yarn. I decided to walk down the clerance aisle. What do I find you ask? A skein of Jamie Pompodour Jumbo or something like that. THREE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!! THREE!! I couldn't resist. I bought it, or technically Mrs. Janet bought it, but anyway. I also got size seven bamboo needles. They are wonderful. I am now wroking on the patchwork blanket from the book that I got that will most likely end up at a hospital.

My grandfather is getting moved from Foley to Birmingham today. That means that my parents can get back and I can go home and not end up at someone else's house all day. I am posting from Mrs. Janet's by the way.

Last night I made up a cute little sweater pattern for baby dolls. I stil have the baby doll that I ahve had since I was three. Her name is Savannah. There are so many good memories associated with Savannah that I just couldn't give her away. So, I made her an adorable little sweater last night. If I ever figure out what I did I will post the pattern. LOL!

FOr the blanket I thought that I would use white, pink, yellow, and blue yarns. What do you think? Should I add in a purple? Please give me your insight!

Hi All

Hey! I babysat today and got twenty dollars and a Sassy Nails gift certificate. I can get my nails done now. I bought the book Total Baby Knits by Candi Jenson. It has the most adorable patterns! I got to see Alec yesterday!! He is soooooo cute! Now I can't wait for him to get a little bigger so I can make him some sweaters and stuff. I can probably knit some of the stuff now and give it to them this fall. Ava asked us yesterday if we wanted to see Marcus's room. I almost died laughing! It was so cute. Ava just got new big girl furniture. She was so excited. I wanted to hold Alec but both grandmother's were there so I didn't stand a chance. I figure I have plenty of time. I have decided that the people in our church need to have more children so I will have more little babies to knit for. I have decided that there is nothing better than seeing a baby wearing something that you made. I am going to have to knit a little label and sew Made By... and my name. I can't wait to start. This is the first little boy that has been at the church! There are only girls! It is so exciting to have a baby boy to knit for! If anybody has the book and can offer some color options for a little baby boy besides blue and green I would love to hear them! Thanks!

Adorable Hat Set!

I made the most adorable little baby hat and bootie set! I got the hat pattern from Lion Brand. It is the Queen of Hearts newborn/preemie hat. The booties are from Ooo Baby Knits. I was at church and didn't have my size 5's with me, so I used size 8 double points. I used Red Heart Super Saver in a light pink. They are the smallest size which made them aproximently large preemie size. I did a seed stitch cuff instead of the rib. They are the cutest booties I've made, if I do say so myself. This will put me at 5 sets so far. Only 45 left to go! LOL! I am going to start a goal. One set a day until the end of summer vacation. Then one set every two days when school starts. That should get me to my goal. Maybe even a little past my goal. I can't wait to meet Jennifer and Brian's new baby! I am planning on making Ava some stuff so she won't feel left out. I think I will be making little Alec a sweater for this fall. Anybody have any good patterns. The only babies I have ever knit for have been girls. The only patterns I have ever tried are much to girlie for a little boy! SO, does anyone have any ideas. Shout out to Kelsey if u read this!!!

Alec Gregory

Hey all! Jennifer and Brian's baby arrived! His name is Alec Gregory. I kept thinking that Ava is going to be so confused. Eric, Michelle, and Audrey got back last night, so I saw Eric today. Eric left Fuggles at home today. He said Fuggles slept late. I just laughed. Fuggles is going to come with me tomorrow.

Mrs. Linda loved the baby booties and hats! I gave Margie Voltz the hat and booties that I made her to give to a friend and she payed me $20! I had already told her that she was not to pay me anything! I was like, Margie you are not to pay me anything! She did anyway.

The pool is finally fixed! We can swim now!

Last Day of Vacation

It's my last day of vacation. I am kind of sad, but man am I ready to sleep in my own bed! This week I finished my best friend Lindsey's Christmas present, DaddyBill's scarf, four baby hats, and three baby bootie sets to go with the hats. I have to make the fourth pair of baby booties in the car today to give to Mrs. Linda Wanniger tomorrow at church. I will have to get her to take a picture of the babies wearing the hats and booties.

I made a baby hat from the book One Skein last month for a couple at my church who are having a little boy. They have a two-year-old named Ava who I have posted about before, I think. Anyway, they wither had their baby last night or they are having him today. I asked Jennifer to e-mail me a picture of him wearing the hat once he arrives so I will probably be able to post that sometime soon. I still don't know his name. Ava keeps calling him Marcus, but Jennifer and Brian keep telling us that his name will not be Marcus. I like Steven or Mason.

Mrs. Kelly, the other person who rode down with us, has a kidney infection and is misrable. My mom had a miagrane yesterday. I decided that it was going to be a long ride back to Birmingham! Two sick woman, a six year old, and me. Wish me luck!

This time, Sara and I will have something to watch besides Full House this time. We will have Cheaper By the Dozen 2 and a couple other movies. Hip hip hooray!!!!

Hi All!!

Hello everyone! I feel great! I love the way the beach makes me feel. I already have a tan and I am pink all around my eyes and nose. I finished DaddyBill's scarf today. I think that it is the most impressive thing I have ever knit!!! Hip hip hooray! The kids did a newspaper today for camp and since I had been working so much on the scarf they decided to put in the fake newspaper that my scarf was for sale for $35. I laughed very hard at that!

I finished a baby hat today and I am about to begin the little booties to match. I have my yellow baby yarn with me, too, so I will probably make another set this week. I still need to get started on some more Christmas presents, but I was nice to myself and only brought yarn to make myself stuff and little babies some warm hats and booties.

By the way, the above picture is another Audrey pic that I had. Isn't it cute!!!

First Post From Flordia!

Well, I am here! I haven't been to the beach yet, but I am going around 7:45 according to the schdule, The ride down here was so much fun! Sara and I watched the complete 2nd season of Full House and then threw pillows at each other the last ten minutes. Mrs. Kelly and my mom loved that. LOL!

I finished Lindsey's present except for the finishing, I will put that off as long as I can!! LOL! I broke my yarn diet today at Michaels. We had to go and get some stuff for the camp and I was looking at the yarn when I saw Liffy by Lion Brand in the color Camel. I had to get it for my grandfather's, DaddyBill, Christmas present, the Double Cable Scarf from the book One Skein. I have finished the cabling for the beggining and am now working on the Knit 2, Purl 2 rib. It is going very quickly! I decided that since the yarn was already in use and was for a gift, it didn;t really matter that I broke the diet. I am glad I don't have any more Christmas presents to make down here after this one! I am planning on making a couple of baby hats (can you guess what book the pattern is from?) while I am down here so I brought my size 6 double points and yellow and pink baby yarns. I haven't started them yet.

I didn't originally bring my computer with me because I didn't think we would have wireless network down here, but when my mom found out we did she called my dad and asked him to send it down with Catherine. Mama of course didn't tell me so when I saw Will with it, I squeled and ran over there. I heard Mrs.Kelly saying see you on Friday!

I can't believe it is only Monday! I am going to get so much done this week (which probably will include catching up on sleep) it won't even be funny!

Eric, Michelle, Audrey, and Fuggles are all down with Muckey in Flordia!

Sad Night, Good Day

Last night I was up until 4:30 reading Law and Order SVU fan fiction on the site svufanfiction.com. Remind me never to read the 6 Feet Under series at three a.m. alone. It was already sad but everything is magnified at 3 a.m. acording to Eric. Anyway, I just read it again and it was just as sad.

In other news, my mom took Catherine (my sister) and me to get a manicure or peticure. Considering I do not like people toucing my feet, I decided on a manicure. I amnot one who goes wild on color, so I picked a simple, shiny polish, called Cotton Candy. It turned out really pretty. Oddly enough, the person who did my nails had been up until 4:30 as well. Tonight I actually have to sleep because at 8:00 tomorrow morning a two-year-old is coming over and at 9:30 the triplets are coming. I can't sleep until 10:00 again!

I got a little knitting done today but not much. I worked a little on my Horseshoe Lace scarf and my friend Lindsey's Christmas present. The present is turning out really well. I am impressed with it if I do say so myself. Don't mean to gloat.

You know what really bugs me about Law and Order SVU? They don't ever hug or say everything will be okay, or express feelings near other people! It is very annoying. Call me obsessed if you want.

Who is Fuggles?

This is Eric and his two-year old daughter Audrey who I love love love!
To answer my own question, Fuggles is a doll that I knit. My friend Eric and I decided to treat him like a little person. We now have two week trade things with him and he wears little people diapers. Eric and his family are going down to Disney World, so of course Fuggles is going. I will post a picture of him and Eric with Mickey.

In other news, I only have 14 more Chirstmas gifts left!! This mean I can fit in a cute halter top for me. Next week I will be posting from the beach!!! My mom is directing a camp down there. My sister is going to be there, so I am going along. The person directing with my mom is her BF and her daughter Sara, who is going into 2nd grade (I feel sooooo old), so I will get to hang out with Sara by the pool, knit, swim and of course post.

I finished the double cable scarf from the book One Skein for my grandfather today!! Hip hip hooray!!!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Too Much!!!!!!!

I have finished a cute little clutch from the book One Skein by Leigh Radford. It is called the clutch you will never give up. It is originally a felted little tiny clutch, but the way I made it was non-felted. I used size 10 24" circular needles and a skein of Homespun yarn from Lion Brand. I bought the yarn from Hobby Lobby. It was in a big bag (three skeins) for 5 dollars! All of it was unlabeled dye lot yarn. Most of it was very ugly but you couldn't tell that from the outside of the bag. Anyway, for the clutch I didn't tuck in the corners and didn't felt it. I did a four row length instead of two for the part above the handle and I used seed stitch since I wasn't felting. It looks very cute. I am going to be making one in white then a tote bag in blue with a pocket in white. I was away for a week while my parents were up in monitored, North Carolina. They have a very nice yarn shop in Black Mountain called Wild and Wooly. Though very expensive, it is good quality. My mom bought me a 20 dollar skein of 100% wool to make a cute felted tote bag. It has 435 yards in it. The yarn was in a hank and it took me forever to wind it. I watched Law and Order SVU while winding.

I don't think I have mentioned how much I love love love Law and Order SVU. By the way, if anyone knows which episode Olivia gets attacked in, I would like to know!

I am almost completely finished with my headbands, I am on the last row of the last one. This puts me almost done with three Christmas presents and done with two. I am making my grandfather the double cable scarf in a dark brown from the book One Skein. I love that book! I have made 8 projects from the book and I am about to start another. I love the book because you can make so many variations from the book. I am planning on posting a picture next week of the clutches that I have been making. Talk to you guys later!
